After spending the night at Chief Lamoni's motel in Lamoni Kansas I traveled a town or two and saw a sign advertising the world famous Toot Toot Restaurant.  I figured any place with a stuffed old timer like this leaving had to be good!

After I placed my order I got up to check out this eagle. It looked real so I asked my waitress. She said the feathers were but the rest wasn't. It must belong to a native because the rest of us aren't allowed to own those feathers.

My breakfast was huge and very good. No licking the plate this time.

I was planning on riding down to Condi and Juniors place but I-35 was getting drenched. Even the route I picked looked questionable.

Cranky said yesterday that you can hear corn grow. Everything yesterday was 6" tall. This morning it is all 12" tall. I listened very carefully and sure enough it sounds like a purring Goldwing when you listen real close.

The Lebold Mansion in Abilene, Kansas

The house that President Eisenhower lived in most of his life.

A museum and the presidential library is located here as well.

Around the corner was an unrelated museum that was a fun visit.

Some Army and firearm history

Some early American lifestyle history

Some interesting college history

You'll never hear a girl say that today.

As a kid, I loved going upstairs and playing their old bellows organ. Nobody else loved it.

A lot of phone history in here.

I remember living this......on both sides of the picture

They had some cool stuff out back

It was funny to see the old stuff, but then right there with it something modern that they forgot to remove

Those stairs were steep and about a 14" rise each.

How does a plastic ice chest fit in this picture?

They called this a vane less wind mill. It actually had a lot of vanes

John Deere model B

The Farmall H and the JD B were a couple of the most popular tractors

Old sawmill

Not sure what was going on here but it sure smelled like something to do with chickens

I thought Lucky Al would like these next few pictures.

Inside this building is a Carousel

The steam engine that ran it

Mfg. here in Abilene, KS

The music box

They could haul this from town to town in 4 horse drawn wagons. It took 4 men 4 hour to put it up, and the same to take it down.

Portable Jail from the era.

This is a counter for the old rotary dial phones. It was very interesting to watch it work.

I used to see phone booths like these in nice buildings

This is the name of the museum

Or maybe it's this
Everywhere I looked there were fields of corn so I ate some while rolling down the road.

Lots of these too!

But they were really hard to dodge when I cleared the rise.

Looks like blue sky in another couple of miles

Hundreds of oil wells to go with the wind power

I don't know if they still use it or not, but it is still connected to the grid.
