This is my first time ever hauling my bike to a rally on a trailer. The hundred plus degree forecast put a damper on my enthusiasm for cooking myself to a medium well condition.

However, these legs could use a little deep frying.

It is a sad note for our nation when we have to fly Old Glory at half mast almost every day of the year.

We are laying over in Barstow, CA and decided to visit a couple of the local attractions.

One Road Runner to another.

Nice Stretch Tortoise.

He is in there somewhere, but I couldn't find him.

Hiding flat against the wall

This is the second largest Meteor ever found in the US

A little info about it.

Harvey House Barstow

They  were built along the Rail Road out West.

There were several built and they were designed to bring a little down home comfort to people traveling by rail in the late 1800's.

This particular one burned down in 1907 and was replaced by this brick one in 1911

The Harvey Houses were the first restaurant chain in the US

Next door is a nice railroad museum. Just a few of the display cars.

I peeked into one of the Harvey House windows and saw this display.

I'm not sure what it is, but thought it was pretty cool.

On our way back to our motel we stopped for an early dinner at Lola's. It was rated 4.5 stars on Trip Advisor but was closer to a 3.5 star reality.

I think Sherm is doing his part to correct that rating. :)
